All you need to know about the Brood 14 Cicadas

Brood XIV (14) of the 17-year periodical cicadas (Magicicada spp.) will appear this spring with high populations over a wide geographical area that includes southern Ohio. A newly posted OSU fact sheet describes what to expect. As you might be able to see on the map, this cicada emergence will not cover the entire Cincinnati metro area. While any given location could see cicadas, they will be most numerous east of interstate 75 and south of Wilmington. Some areas in Indiana and western Cincinnati may see few if any cicadas.
