ILN weather story for sunday

Some snow showers will move into the Cincinnati area today and tonight. Some areas could get accumulations of an inch or more, mainly on grassy surfaces. Slick driving cannot be ruled out in some of the heavier snow showers but moderate to major impacts are not expected.

A massive winter storm is organizing and moving toward West Virginia and the East Coast. Conditions will deteriorate this morning in West Virginia and driving there will become very difficult to impossible today. Conditions up and down the East Coast from Washington DC through Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston will begin to deteriorate later today and will become paralyzing over the next 48 hours.

One to as much as 3 feet of snow is expected with wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph or higher. Full blizzard conditions are expected in parts of Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. This will greatly impact several major airline hubs which will likely have a ripple effect for the entire country. Travel is not advised to West Virginia, Virginia, eastern Pennsylvania, or the northeast coast from Washington DC to the Canadian border for at least the next couple days. This is a high impact storm and any travel to these areas could be life-threatening.
